Flat twist with weave is not the traditional way which you are used to seeing this popular style among black women.

Flat twists are traditionally done on natural hair as a way of protecting the hair and/or to later untwist it and wear it in twist-out style.

I have to admit, I am not a huge fan of the popular flat twist styles because they have never worked on my hair type.

My natural hair tends to soak up much of the humidity that’s out there and living in the beautiful sunshine state doesn’t help much.

So my twist-outs have no chance of surviving.

They usually just turn into a big afro which I don’t mind, but if I spent 3 hours on it the night before I am expecting some lasting results.

Raise your hand if you are with me!

Because of the reasons I mentioned above, I don’t usually wear my hair in the traditional twist-out styles.

I prefer a braid-out style.

FLAT TWIST WITH WEAVE HAIR UPDO TUTORIAL

However, I still wanted to give flat twists a try but as an updo style using hair extensions.

I came up with this flat twist with weave updo using X-pression braiding hair.

If you are thinking about re-creating this flat twist with weave hair updo style, it will take time because you will have to twist each strand of the hair extension.

But I promise you it is so worth it.

As a special occasion hair updo, it will work great for the bridal party or even the bride.

If you are not a fan of the high, I have a low bun version of this flat twist with weave which you can check out below.
