First off, my friend happy FALL season to you.
And by the title of this blog post, you may be wondering, what do plait braids for natural hair growth have to do with harvest time?
Well, nothing!
Except that, before getting my braids put in, I imagined them looking as you see in the images so that they would match the fall season.
Life goal mission accomplished.
I promise I have a more valid point at the end of this post though, so keep reading.
I could have gone with an all-black color Ruwa hair extension, but I decided to go with a dirty blonde color because, after all, blondes have more fun.
In this post, I will share how you can use your plait braids for natural hair growth with a simple yet effective nighttime natural hair care routine.
HOW TO USE PLAIT BRAIDS FOR HAIR GROWTH
As mentioned in a previous blog post, the main reason I get my hair braided is for hair growth purposes first, then fashion.
When considering getting braids, I never think of getting the latest braid style.
My first thought is always, which one is the safest? Which style will not take out my edges? Will I have easy access to my scalp?
These are all questions I ask and you should too. I never sacrifice the health of my hair for style or fashion.
This brings me to my point.
When wearing braids, your scalp health is vital.
Hair grows from the scalp, so healthy scalp equals healthy hair and healthy hair equals fast hair growth.
The scalp care routine I follow is simple.
I would recommend that you use this hydrating hair growth oil to thoroughly oil your scalp every other night, and also to practice the inversion method to massage the oil into your scalp.
In addition to massaging your scalp with the oil, you will also want to work the oil into your hair strands for extra moisture.
This simple routine will help maintain your braids for up to a month or more and encourage natural hair growth.
For easy application of the oil, use an applicator bottle like the one I have below. Also use a silk headwrap to wrap you hair at night.
If you haven’t guessed it already fall is my favorite season, almost every year, I make it to the pumpkin patch.
However, this year, it was different.
I visited my family in Boston and ended up going to a real farm to pick up my pumpkins.
But I wasn’t expecting for the pumpkins to be from seeds until I started picking one up from the ground.
You see the other patches I’ve visited in the past, the pumpkins are usually laid out on a table, and the scenery is made to look like a farm. I live in a big metropolitan area in Florida
But as I looked back at the image, I had so much joy on my face.
And that is when I realized I was grabbing my harvest from the ground.
If you know the law of seedtime and harvest, you can only reap that which you have sown.
You may be reading this and still have no idea what I am talking about, but this principle is Biblical.
And you might be asking still, how are braids related to harvest time?
The answer is, they don’t, but my plait braid hairstyle was inspired by the fall season.
And I wanted to let you know that it’s harvest time.
Be inspired.
